New Year’s Resolutions anyone??? What was yours?
Hi All!
Well, as you can see, I fell pretty hard off the wagon of writing newsletters….
Life became full with new clients coming through the door, turning 50 years old and learning how to surf in Mexico, enduring a necessary bathroom remodel, and doing my best to move through the in and out grief of ending my marriage of 17 years.
It’s been a ride, but I know everyone’s life is a ride. It’s what it is to be human I believe.
So, here we are in 2019 and I’m feeling pretty inspired with my ride in general, along with what I’m hoping to accomplish this year.
I’m very close to finishing my first book about Clutter and am currently sitting beside my marketing gal, Hailey who is working on my upcoming author website. It’s all rather exciting to be honest and I promise to keep you all in the loop as I come closer to the release date.
I started kickboxing and am soon to learn Krav Maga (a self defense program) at a local Dojo. Moving my body is always a good thing, and now to do so for some self defense safety feels so right…
Work continues to offer amazing amounts of satisfaction and is engaging me on many levels. Home transformation, whether it’s decluttering, or a new space configuration in a room, or just moving a client’s art to a new wall typically elicits enthusiasm and hope.
So let’s chat about your resolutions. How’s it going so far? Anyone have GET ORGANIZED! on their lists? According to GoSkills.com the top eight resolutions are as follows:
-
Exercise more.
-
Lose weight.
-
Get organized.
-
Learn a new skill or hobby.
-
Live life to the fullest.
-
Save more money / spend less money.
-
Quit smoking.
-
Spend more time with family and friends.
I know a few of these are on my list!
If you are hoping to get a bit more organized this year, let’s a get a jump on it! Many of you have hours you are still able to use and I would urge you to get on my cal sooner vs. later since it is filling up.
In my own home, I JUST had to reorganize my junk drawer again, and if you remember from my first Newsletter, that is where I started out.
I want to let you know that organizing is NOT a one-and-done type endeavor. Life is forever changing: more stuff is always coming in, chaos is the natural state of life, and we as humans are ALWAYS in consumer mode for the most part. Organizing is about maintaining the systems we created in our first sessions.
Consider taking the extra moment this week to make those harder decisions (release? put away? file?) and see the benefits your home and mind will be rewarded with. Taking care of something in the moment will really help eradicate those piles of paper, clothing, books, etc. in every corner, counter top , bedside table, floor, etc.
Clutter is defined as delayed decisions. Make a pact to not delay this week. BE DECISIVE.
In honor of Valentine’s Day and all the romance that surrounds jewelry, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite remedies for all your baubles.
I have had the pleasure of installing this remedy into half a dozen homes so far, one of them being my own! It’s my absolute go-to for wrangling jewelry in one’s life.
If you are a current client of mine and have some hours you want to schedule with me, here’s the link to my online scheduler. I would love to see your name pop up on my calendar.
This is great garage weather we are moving into! Let’s get it done!
In gratitude,
Colette
